TV: House – Not Cancer (Season 5 Episode 2)

Finally! The medical side of House is back. Although the problem between Wilson and House is still there, the episode gave more emphasis on the patient (but of course not completely). The usual investigative approach of House like going to patient’s house or workplace and interviewing the relatives of the patient is still absent. But I like the fact that attention to the medical side was given. I didn’t know about CSC before, so it’s actually very enlightening to me. Though the show didn’t gave me much information about CSC, it gave way for me to check what CSCs are.

However, there are still downers. The downer back in season 4 is still there. The appearance of Cameron and Chase are always like one scene each. PAGING! GIVE MORE SCENES FOR CHASE AND CAMERON!!! The former always found inside the surgery room and the latter at the emergency room. Also, as I mentioned, the investigative approach (what I like most) is nowhere to be found.

But I like how the story is going. I Hope Wilson-House conflict would move to a higher problem. Hehe

But I like this episode better than the pilot episode of season 5. Out of 10, I say 7.5

Quote from this episode: “…only two things you ignore: things that aren’t important and the things you wish weren’t important…”

TV – House: Death Changes Everything (Season 5 Episode 1)

This episode is very much anticipated. I’ve been waiting for it for a couple of weeks (months even) already. The episode has some good points, but it has also downers. Let’s start with the good points. I like the fact that it ended pretty sadly. The story went exactly where I would’ve wanted it to go. I like the fact that House showed some vulnerability in there. I also like this episode because it’s full of strong lines. Example is what Wilson said to House (“We are not anymore friends House. I’m not even sure if we ever were.”) and what House said to Wilson (“Your friendship is more important than any patient”). Also, 13′s Huntington’s disease became a side conflict to the other characters. I think one of the future season’s finales will be her suffering/death. Before I watched season 4′s last episode, I thought the result of the Huntington’s test would be negative. Then, the conflict would be between 13-Chase-Cameron love story. I was wrong. Hehe.

Now for the downer. I actually really enjoyed watching House not because of the characters or the story of the characters, but rather because of the theme. I like the fact that it is very medical in nature unlike Grey’s Anatomy (apologies for the fans of Grey). Unfortunately, this episode lost it’s medical side. Although not completely, the conflict between the characters overshadowed the medical theme of the show. I hope it’ll only for the first few episodes coz I can understand that the conflict between House and Wilson must be given importance. But I really hope that the CSI-like approach would still remain.

On the scale of 1-10, 10 as the highest, I think it’s 6.5.
